Ellyse Perry’s stamp of approval!
Ellyse Perry’s legacy will be printed on a postage stamp as one of the six living legends of cricket in Australia Post’s Legend Awards.
Ellyse Perry is named as one of Australia’s six cricket legends, alongside Allan Border AO, Adam Gilchrist AM, Jason Gillespie, Dennis Lillee AM MB and Ricky Ponting AO in the 25th annual Australia Post Legends Awards.
Recognised for their contribution to the game, the community and Australian sport, the six legends of cricket will be immortalised in the form of the humble postage stamp.
Perry, along with her fellow award recipients, will have their portraits featured in the exclusive Australian Legends of Cricket stamp issue.
Australia Post Executive General Manager Community & Consumer, Nicole Sheffield says that Perry and the Legend Award recipients are sources of great national pride and celebration for all Australians.
“For more than 200 years, cricket has played an important role in shaping our summers and our culture and has had a profound impact on the way we see ourselves and each other,” says Sheffield.
“The very first recipient of the Australia Post Legends Award was Sir Donald Bradman, so it is fitting that we return to the crease in the award’s 25th year,” adds Sheffield.
Ellyse Perry’s exclusive Australian Legends of Cricket stamps are available for pre order on the Australia Post website here, and will be available at participating Post Offices or via mail order by phoning 1800 331 794.
